Eat Art – A Night of Food, Art and Fundraising in Putney
Our good friend Milly Green of The Art Movement recently invited us to a delightful evening of art, food and fizz at Putney School of Art and Design. The event, perfectly titled Eat Art, was hosted by Milly in collaboration with the talented Helen Sugarman of Cook’d London. Apart from being a hugely enjoyable social evening, the event had a meaningful purpose — raising funds for the charity The Passage, which supports people experiencing homelessness and helps them find a path back into mainstream society.
We were warmly welcomed with a glass of fruity fizz and invited to wander through the beautiful artwork on display. Helen had created a stunning spread of vibrant crudités — almost too pretty to eat — which were gratefully enjoyed as we mingled.
Emily from The Passage gave a moving and insightful talk about the charity’s vital work, including a recent success story that reminded us all why these fundraising events matter so much. Her words brought a real sense of connection and purpose to the evening.
After the talk, we were tempted by Helen’s sweet treats, which had been laid out like a still life on the centre table. Irresistible!
All the artwork on show was for sale, with Milly generously pledging that 50% of the proceeds would go directly to The Passage. As Melanie and I browsed, we were instantly drawn to a gorgeous print of red mullet by artist Richard Bramble — and yes, it came home with us. Now we just need to decide where to hang it!
A big thank you to Milly, Helen, and everyone involved for such a memorable and inspiring evening. Art, food, and a good cause — what’s not to love?
